This project is the 2021 calendar design project on Kakao Page. Every year, Kakao page designs calendars for its employees and users. In 2021, we designed the ‘Beyond Display’ augmented reality calendar in an effort to create a unique calendar based on our webtoon contents. Although a calendar can be a monotonous medium that is view on a daily basis, we were able to create a new content experience by combining augmented reality with our IPs.​

Instead of viewing twelve fixed images, users can scan our calendar IP images for a dynamic content experience. For a brief moment, user can experience what it would be like to be inside the story themselves. Allowing this AR experience to be shared on social media also provided the opportunity to create more interest and excitement about webtoons with more people. The overall calendar design highlighted the IP image experience while utilizing simple typography to deliver a chic and modern look.​
